Kingdom Year

Kingdom Year: A One Year Experience in Christ Centered Community Living

A ministry of Kingdom House Ministries, in partnership with the Logos Institute and the broader Church community to glorify Jesus Christ.

The Goal:

To set aside and develop a radical community of young believers in Christ who will allow Christ to make them into an example to the Church and to hold out the Word of Life (Gal 2:20; I Tim 4:12; Phil 2:14-16). To provide these young people with college-quality Christocentric teaching, apostolic discipleship and real-life experience to help them reach their destiny in Christ.

The Deal:

Young people recommended by their churches and affirmed by our fellowship would commit to a one-year term of service and learning in the City of Canton as they live in an intentional community. The goal is that for the cost of an overseas missions trip, these young people would serve as missionaries to this city for one year. They would have their living expenses paid for or subsidized by the body of Christ to empower them to do the work of the Gospel.

Discipleship:

The Learning will be both Corporate and Individual, and will involve both growing in the Experience of Christ through Knowledge (study of the scripture and apostolic teaching) and Service (blessing, edifying, unifying and empowering the Church and community through Christ).

Knowledge:

• As a community, we will study under the leadership and teaching of Dr. John Geib and the Logos Institute (www.logoseducation.com).
• We will also learn from various leaders, scholars, and preachers in the Church who will drive our dialogue with seminars on specific topics.
• Individually, we will commit ourselves to learning the scriptures and studying the topics being focused on.

Service:

• As a community, we will run Kingdom House Ministries and further their mission to evangelize and disciple high school and college-aged youth in the City of Canton.
• As a community, we will run an intensive discipleship, mentorship, and bible study program to incarcerated youth through the Second Chance Chaplaincy at the Juvenile jail; and will encourage these young people to become involved with Kingdom House.
• Individually, each student will have a local community ministry in the City of Canton that they will be assigned to bless with their labor and their help; we will serve at all of the different locations corporately, and then decide as a community how and where each of us will go so as to best meet the needs of this City.
• We will facilitate the creation and operation of any ministry that the Spirit reveals to us as being a need that our community should meet; and we will assist in finding individuals and churches in the broader church who can meet any other needs.

Community Living:

The community will live together at or around Kingdom House, will enjoy evening meals together provided by the broader Church; retreat weekends; and will live our lives in Christ centered community so that God’s love may be shown through us.
